A Night’s Welcome
2021 – 2022 Winter Shelter Schedule:
The shelter is open from 6 PM – 7 AM. Guests may arrive between 6 PM – 9 PM; dinner is served at 6:30 PM. A to-go style breakfast will be provided each morning.
January 16—March 26: the shelter is at Zion Baptist Church, 125 W. County Street, Hampton. A Night’s Welcome will close for the season on Saturday, March 26 at 7 AM.
For the coldest weeks of the year, HELP coordinates with 21 area churches to provide a place that is safe and warm. “A Night’s Welcome” is a nightly shelter, but its location changes throughout the season as area churches open their doors to those in need. With the help of many volunteers and organizations, two hot meals, toiletries, and community are provided for individuals and families that find themselves on the street each winter.
Every year, HELP provides over 6,600 bed nights of shelter for over 340 individuals, supported by nearly 17,000 hours of volunteer service from our community.
Here’s how you can help:
We are always in need of groups to prepare and serve meals for our guests. Some nights we feed as many as 100 people. Gather your group to prepare dinner or breakfast.
