Digital Dentistry uses 3D printing to produce dental appliances like dentures, night guards, and crowns for a low cost, often with a turnaround time of hours instead of weeks.
At HELP, our 3D scanner and printer make it possible for us to take a picture of a patient’s mouth, print the dentures or night guard, and fit it for the patient– often in a single visit.
Other clinics across Virginia can send us digital scans of their patients and we can produce dentures for them, too.
Through a generous grant from the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation, the HELP dental lab was able to purchase the SprintRay digital dentistry system. Using contactless scanning, our new 3D technology allows us to create dentures and night guards in-house.
It’s convenient and time-saving… but the truly amazing thing about digital dentistry is the cost. Traditional dentures can cost anywhere from $700 to over $4,000. They require multiple appointments and can take weeks, if not months, to complete. Traditional night guards also require multiple appointments to complete and cost around $500-$700.
At HELP, we are able to offer dentures for less than $500 a set and night guards for less than $125.

How does 3D Dental Printing work?
We start by taking a 3D scan of the patient’s mouth to get a picture of top and bottom teeth as well as the bite. These highly detailed images are turned into dentures and night guards by our dental team using a 3D printer in the HELP lab.
The 3D printer uses a combination of digital light processing and biosafe resins to produce an incredibly accurate product. After a little finishing by our dental team, the product is ready for use. The entire process is accomplished for a fraction of the cost and time required by traditional methods.
