Get Help

HELP is closer than you think.

If you are experiencing a housing emergency, please start here by calling the housing crisis line: 757-587-4202.

Get HELP with a meal:

Breakfast and lunch are served daily at our Day Center at 329 Buckroe Ave Monday – Friday.

Get HELP with a shower and laundry:

Showers and laundry machines are available Monday – Friday 9am – 1pm. Toiletries and laundry soap provided.

Get HELP with groceries:

The HELP Food Pantry provides over 10,000 meals to Hampton residents annually. Canned goods and pantry staples are available from our pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 – 5:30 (lunch break from 1-2) at 1320 LaSalle Ave inside the social services building.

Get HELP with shelter:

Between November and March, HELP collaborates with area churches to provide a hot dinner and a safe, warm place to sleep.

We maintain a very limited number of shelter beds year-round for the Emergency Shelter program. Referrals are only accepted through the Housing Crisis Hotline (757-587-4202) and space is incredibly limited. This program provides a short-term subsidized shelter to help individuals get back on their feet and end the cycle of homelessness. It includes intensive case management to ensure clients are working toward self-sufficiency.

Get HELP with rent or utilities:

HELP is thankful to receive support to assist clients with financial matters. In an effort to streamline assistance requests, all requests for Rent/Mortgage/Utility assistance should be directed to THRIVE Peninsula. Assistance is not guaranteed and is highly dependent on available funds, the number of requests, and staff assessment of need.

Get HELP with other support services:

Our Day Center management can help you obtain documents and vital records. You can also receive your mail at the day center.
