Shelter
HELP provides two kinds of temporary shelter:
Emergency Shelter:
Referrals are only accepted through the Housing Crisis Hotline (757-587-4202) and space is limited. This program provides short-term subsidized shelter to help individuals get on their feet and end the cycle of homelessness. It includes intensive case management to ensure that clients are successfully working toward self-sufficiency.
A Night’s Welcome:
Our winter shelter operates between November and March. HELP collaborates with area churches to provide our homeless neighbors with a hot meal and a warm, safe place to sleep.

“Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice…to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your home, when you see the naked, to cover them…”
